Space Camp

When funding is available the Bedford Urban Enterprise Association (BUEA) has sponsored several students, residing in the enterprise zone, to participate in programs at U. S. Space & Rocket Center. Our mission is to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for economically challenged youth to participate in these Space Camp programs in Huntsville, Alabama, and to come home with ambition, self-confidence, and the motivation to be upstanding leaders in our community and possibly our nation.

Our goal is to provide a student who makes average marks in school the opportunity to apply school knowledge in a real world environment. There are many students who need educational motivation. There are many students who make average grades in school, but could do better given an actual life experience that would connect the learning process and the real world. We are looking for students that fall into that category. Furthermore, each student who completes the program may receive a credit for science. Space Camp also awards scholarships to qualifying students.
