Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all area stakeholders. 

Enterprise Zones are a special program now administered through the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.  There are more than 20 Enterprise Zone Associations 
located in various cities around the State.

Businesses operating in the Enterprise Zones are eligible for several tax credits which include; Enterprise Zone Investment Deduction IC 5-28-15, Investment cost credits, Loan interest credits, and Employee expense and wage credits.

The Bedford Urban Enterprise Association Inc. (BUEA) has incorporated as a 501-C-3  not for profit organization and is a great local resource for grant writing and program administration.

To date BUEA has partnered on several projects with grant awards exceeding more than $2.5 million dollars for various local projects.

BUEA also works to ensure local help is available for businesses expanding or new business wanting to locate to the area.  We have a very successful track record.

BUEA has helped numerous local businesses through the tax abatement process and has represented them during local City and County Council meetings.

BUEA is also a resource for site development and site searches and has access to an extensive database of properties for your needs.

BUEA has extensive GIS resources through the City and County, Demographic information from State and Federal sources, and can even provide traffic count information for State and local roadways.

BUEA is also a local resource for all State programs from housing, business and commercial development,
to parks and recreation.

The Enterprise Zone program is administered under Indiana Code 5-28-15.
   *  6 members of the Board are appointed by the Mayor
   *  4 members are appointed by the City Council
   *  2 members are appointed by the Governor
